Day two of college week and we cannot wait to feature Texas A&M University! Over one hundred Aggies joined us abroad this summer, and we are so glad they allowed us to show them what's beyond the Lone Star State. Studying abroad creates such special memories for our students. Being able to look back on the new adventures they experienced, the people and friends met along the way, and how they grew as an individual is what it's all about. Being able to do that alongside those that share a college town, however, truly puts the icing on the cake! Knowing that you can return back to school and share once in a lifetime memories from both your campus and being abroad with your peers is something many students hold near to their hearts.
Many students share that one of their favorite things about our programs is how it checks off so many of their boxes when picking the perfect experience for them. Not having to settle and being able to experience as possible is one of LeadAbroad's biggest priorities. Jonna Poursepanj, a Texas A&M student on our 2022 LEAD Cape Town program, shared that she enjoyed how much it had to offer. "The leadership lessons changed my life perspective, the people I met will be my friends forever, and the experiences I had there are stories I will tell my grandchildren." This level of content felt amongst students is why we do what we do! Our hope is so leave students with memories they will never forget and will stay with them throughout their lives. Whether you go to the same school or one hundreds of miles away, the connections, friendships and bonds built on our programs are fostered in such a way that will last any distance!
Our staff absolutely adores being able to meet each and every student on our programs. Many of them are traveling alone, have been abroad before, or experience homesickness and discomfort being so far away from the life that they know. One of LeadAbroad's promises is to be a support system for both our students but also their families as they navigate what can be a nerve-wrecking change. Chloe Leyva, a 1st year Aggie on DIRECT Cape Town, felt the amount of love and support our staff showed our students throughout the entire process. "It is truly the people that make the place so special...LeadAbroad offered so much support before, during, and after my trip. All of them were so kind and supportive, and I knew that they were always there if I needed them!" Our job is so help facilitate our programs to be the best study abroad experience possible, and that begins with staff that is there for you every step of the way!
Our hope is that our students build connections with students from all over the country, but some from your own college town wouldn't hurt! We cannot wait to visit College Station, Texas this upcoming fall.
