Food at the lake

Our next blogger today from Greece Direct is Ivy Spradling, a junior at Delta State University. Read about her lake adventures and how her first trip outside of the U.S. is already making an incredible impact!

The Vouliagmeni Lake is a site to see if you never have. Our entire group went to lay out in the sun and just relax! It was a different side to see and what was so amazing is that it used to be a cave. At first I had no clue where we were going but once we walked down the hill it was like a resort with a lake. The water was a little chilly but there were fish that ate the dead skin on your feet and all of the girls reactions were hysterical. The view was breathtaking and I just enjoyed sitting around watching everything. A huge group of us went out in the water, swam and explored. I come from a small delta community in Mississippi and this is beyond what I could have ever imagined. I have never been out of the country and so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. I came on this trip by myself and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything in the world. This trip was an adventure for me to really explore the world and find myself and to take a break for the summer. I have made some amazing new friends and without our leaders it wouldn’t be the same. I am beyond thankful for this experience and I still have a week left.
