All students are required to have a valid passport to travel this summer.
Already have your passport? Confirm it is valid per the guidelines below:
• The expiration date - countries require your passport to be valid BEYOND your planned return date. Make sure your passport is valid for this length of time BEYOND when you get back to the United States after your program.
• 6 months: Greece (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Greece.html)
• 3 months: Italy,(https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Italy.html) Spain,(https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Spain.html) Portugal(https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Portugal.html)
• 30 days: South Africa (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/SouthAfrica.html)and Costa Rica (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/CostaRica.html)(Technically, Costa Rica (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/CostaRica.html)only requires your passport to be valid for the length of your stay; however, in case you are delayed leaving the country due to illness or airline delays, we recommend your passport be valid for a minimum of 30 days beyond your scheduled return.)
• As an example - if you are traveling to Greece and you are scheduled to return to the States on May 22 after your program is complete, your passport can not expire before November 23, of that year.
• The passport has at least two blank consecutive pages
• Your name is spelled correctly
• Your passport is signed
